Do You Have Fear and Anxiety?

Do You Have Fear and Anxiety?

If you want to change the level of your health, here’s what you have to understand. Most illness comes from emotional or stressful conditions that we activate from within ourselves. This includes, of course, fear and anxiety. The job we have and the people we know or live with only serve to trigger specific feeling that you are sensitive to and this activates your fear, anxiety or stress. Anxiety and stress are a force that works on your body, organs or cells causing malfunction and deterioration. Stress creates acid that resides in your cells and in your lymph liquid that surrounds your cells. An acid body breeds sickness such as cancer. Cancer thrives in an acid body Pathogens live and multiply in an acid body. Acid breaks down cell structures and tissue. The food you eat can contribute to an acid body or an alkaline body. Processed food creates acid in your body. Raw food reduces acid in your body and brings the state of your body to an alkaline condition. So here is a start for you if you are interested in changing the level of your health. Learn how to relieve stress and relax more frequently. You can do this by exercising, by working with a psychotherapist, and by using various brain relaxation tape. You can do it by bring in more love into your life. Learn what type of food you need to eat that will not create a lot of acid in your body. It is ok to eat acid foods but they have to be balance with alkaline foods. Use natural remedies to relieve various conditions that you have so that you can get back to into balance. Then work on relaxation and eating naturally. If you are on drugs start investigating how you can back off from these drugs and what alternative remedy there is that can partly take the place of your drug. Drugs create an acid body and destroy tissue. Fear and anxiety come from suppressed traumatic memories or cellular memories, which are the cause of most diseases. What are suppressed traumatic memories and what do they do. Well let first let me explain a little about how the body works. Under natural conditions, a cell moves in nutrients and releases toxic waste. In the cell it burns these nutrients to provide with you with energy, for repairing itself, splitting and creating new cells and performing all other functions that keep it and you healthy. How a cell function is determined by the autonomic system. In this system, we have the para-sympathetic system and the sympathetic system. When your body is under the para-sympathetic mode, your cells and body are functioning normal and has a strong immune system to heal itself. Under the sympathetic mode, your body is acting as if it is under attack and blood is pull from your organs and other areas that don’t need much blood and is moved to the muscles so that you can deal with the attack. This attack is typical a dangerous or life threatening situation. Body cells under the sympathetic mode are not functioning normal. Less blood is flowing in this area means less nutrients going into the cell and less toxic matter coming out of the cell. This is the condition that produces disease. Now here is important information that brings all this together. Many people feel that they are under a condition of constant attack – feeling fear and anxiety – even though they really are not. In this feeling of attack they express it as fear, stress, anxiety, anger, jealousy, and all types of negative behaviors. People are typically under the sympathetic mode in which they are in automatic fight or flight mode. They are not even conscious of this because this is normal for them. Well, this is the condition where disease is created. When disease sets in, the cells cannot heal this disease since its immune system is weak and its cellular strengthen is gone from lack of nutrients and a build up of toxic wastes in the cells. Stress and anxiety creates disease and all though history, people have been told to have some sort of stress management program such as exercise, yoga, psychotherapy, drugs, laughing, or any movement program. Most people don’t bother having a so called stress management program because they have no way of monitoring it to see if their stress is decreasing and doing these programs takes time. So work on your health and eat more alkaline foods and start on a stress reduction program.

Depression: Treatments for Depression

Depression: Treatments for Depression

Depression affects the person physically, mentally and emotionally. Though there are many causes, it is only through proper treatment and with the help of a specialist that this can go away. Here is a list of treatments that can be used to counter depression. 1. People who are suffering from mild depression are given anti-depressant medications. Some of these include seretonin reuptake inhibitors better known as SSRI’s, tricyclics and the monoamine oxidase inhibitors or MAOI’s. Doctors who are prescribed these drugs should inform the patient about the side effects that can be experienced. The dosage may have to be increased or decreased depending on the person’s reaction to the medication. 2. Over the past few years, scientists have been researching on new ways to treat depression. One that is gaining popularity is herbal therapy. Initially used in Europe, doctors in the United States have started clinical trials using natural supplements such as those found in biloba, echinacea, ephedra, ginseng and hypericum. People who use these herbs have shown significant improvements without any side effects commonly experienced when taking medication. 3. Psychotherapy is another common way used to treat depression. The patient will talk to the doctor regularly so that both can find out what is wrong mentally. Some homework is sometimes given to the individual so that this can be discussed during the next session. 4. Next is called electro convulsive therapy otherwise known as ECT. This is only used in patients who are suicidal and when anti-depressant medications are not working. The doctor will first give a muscle relaxant. When the person feels calm, electrodes are placed in precise locations in the head that will deliver electrical impulses. For this to be effective, the patient will have to come in the clinic at least 3 times a week. 5. Depressions makes on feel tired, helpless and hopeless. Since many consider this to be “all in the head” some doctors have suggested the use of self-help is another way to treat those who are feeling depressed. · The person can start by focusing on small goals that doesn’t take a lot of time and energy. Once this is achieved, bigger ones can be planned. If the task given is too difficult to do, its advisable to break it down into smaller ones so this can be better accomplished. · It is hard to bottle up the feeling of sadness inside. Since people need some time to let off some steam to feel better, it is suggested to talk to a friend about this. · Exercise is another form of treatment for depression. This is because engaging in some activity may release endorphins in the body making one feel happy. · No man is an island. This means family and friends who are aware of what the person is experiencing can help out by just being there and listening. Advice should only be given when it is asked for and criticism should be avoided since this may make the problem even worse. Treating depression takes weeks and sometimes months. This really depends on the attitude of the person, the doctor and those around who are willing to help. The patient must remember that not to expect things to change after just one session. This will happen gradually and this will reveal itself all in good time.

Two Simple Ideas for Preventing Colon Cancer

Two Simple Ideas for Preventing Colon Cancer

Colon cancer starts with colon polyps. Polyps are growths in the inner lining of your colon walls. They are formed when the inner lining is irritated or attacked by fecal matter toxins. When you have polyps your risks of getting colon cancer increases dramatically. To prevent getting colon cancer you need to prevent getting polyps. If you have polyps then you need to prevent them from becoming cancerous. Here are some ideas that you can use in preventing colon cancer whether you have or do not have polyps. Polyps occur when your fecal matter is toxic and becomes stagnant. When your fecal matter stops moving in your colon, then toxic matter in the fecal matter comes in contact with your colon wall. It is this colon area that becomes irritated and over time weakens. As inflammation sets in and irritation continues, toxins are absorbed into the colon wall and a growth occurs. This growth will continue as long as you continue to have toxic fecal matter and constipation. Here are two things that can help you from creating and irritating polyps. First eliminate any form of constipation. You have constipation if you don’t have at least two bowel movements daily when you have three meals a day. Determine how long it takes for your food to pass through your body. A good rule of thumb is, it should take about 24 hours for food to travel from your mouth and out your anus. After you eat breakfast in the morning, drink 6 – 8 oz of any juice with 2 oz of liquid chlorophyll. You can use 2 oz of red beet juice if you prefer. Then check when you start to see either green or red stools. This is your colon transit time. If it takes more than 24 hours then you need to reduce this time. Preventing colon cancer requires that fecal matter move through your colon without remaining at one spot for too long. The second thing you can do to prevent colon cancer is to change your fecal matter toxic level. Two things that make your fecal matter more toxic are undigested food and carcinogenic chemicals. Since, most processed foods such as breads, packaged foods, cooked foods, processed meats, and pasteurized liquids lack digestive enzymes, your body is unable to digest all of the food that you eat. When undigested food reaches the colon, it is decomposed by bad bacteria and becomes highly toxic. To correct this toxicity, start eating more raw foods such as fruits and vegetables, which are filled with enzymes. Try ten servings a day. It’s a lot isn’t it? But, that what we need to stop colon cancer or other colon irritations. Next, read food labels and avoid those foods, as much as possible, which contain excessive preservative, coloring, dyes, fillers, and food stabilizers. There are hundreds of chemicals that are added to your food which help to keep the food from falling apart and decaying. Many of these chemicals are not digested in the small intestine and move into the colon where then make the fecal matter more toxic. These are two steps that you can start applying for preventing colon cancer. If you have polyps, then these steps will help to keep them in check and reduce your risk of getting colon cancer.

Finding a Depression Treatment That Works for You

Finding a Depression Treatment That Works for You

Anxiety and depression seem to be on the rise in many parts of the world. The increased anxiety after September 11 has caused many people to look fondly at the past well hoping for a better future. In the meantime, it is necessary for many to seek treatment for anxiety and depression if only to be able to continue to function.

While anxiety is a term used to mean excessive worry or fear and depression is considered feelings of sadness and hopelessness, they’re both very closely related with very similar treatment plans. Although there are a number of options available, it’s important to get an accurate diagnosis from a qualified psychological counselor. It’s also critical that you visit your medical doctor, if only to eliminate physical causes that may have triggered the anxiety depression.

Here’s a few of the strategies that have been successfully used to treat anxiety and depression. Understand that while all have been shown effective to some degree, they don’t all work for all people.

Medications:
Certain types of medications known as SSRI or Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors work to increase the serotonin levels in your brain. These antidepressant meds have been able to be used successfully to treat many of the more common anxiety disorders. Although depression is generally recognized as being caused by low levels of chemicals in the brain, it seems to respond well to medication regimen. This in turn can help with various anxiety symptoms even though anxiety is more closely related to phobias and fears.

The Therapeutic Counseling:
Some of the most effective counseling is known as cognitive therapy. This behavior therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps a person to recognize the thinking patterns that may have caused the anxiety disorder or depression. Psychotherapeutic counseling is especially effective with various phobias also.

Natural Anxiety and Depression Treatments:
There are many products on the market that all claim to cure various illnesses, disorders and disease. The reality is that many of these claims have not or cannot be verified through independent research. This means that even though it product claims to be the “miracle cure” these claims are based on testimonials. This isn’t to say that there are not some natural mood elevating strategies that one can use.

These mood elevating strategies include getting more sunlight. It’s no secret that in the winter when the days are shorter, there are more of us suffer from depression. I purposely going out into the sunlight for a least 30 minutes a day, it’s possible to help raise your mood level and fight off depression.

Another effective method to change your perspective and elevate your mental state is to exercise. A brisk walk or other exercise program lasting at least 30 minutes can elevate the endorphins. These chemicals in the brain can give you an almost positive euphoric feeling that is also an effective treatment for depression.

Although there are many other treatment methods, these have been found to be the most effective. Many anxiety and depression sufferers find that a combination of treatment strategies is required to effectively feel better and function.

PostPartum Depression – Fact, Fiction Or Theory?

PostPartum Depression – Fact, Fiction Or Theory?

Postpartum depression is a much more common problem than once thought with as many as 15% of new mothers suffering from symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder (also known as “Manic” Depression) to schizophrenia. Most cases of Postpartum depression are from new mothers, but it can affect a woman after any pregnancy, usually within three months after child birth.

Doctors don’t really know what causes this type of disorder. There have have been many studies done and there are a few theories as to possible causes, but no hard facts, as of yet. Below are some of the theories resulting from many different studies done on this condition.

Some studies show that it could be caused by a sudden, dramatic change in the level of a woman’s hormones. This is a distinct possibility considering that the body is taken from having such a large amount of hormones to literally being “brought back to reality” with her hormones returning to a normal level. This occurs very suddenly over the twenty four hour period following childbirth. This is similar to the mood changes a woman experiences when suffering from Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS).

Other studies disagree. They tend to believe that it has something to do with the dramatic changes in the person’s life by the stress of suddenly entering into motherhood. This is another possibility to consider as each person will react differently to different situations and different forms of stress.

Another study done shows that there are changes in thyroid hormones that bring about changes in women such as mood swings, anger, sadness and insomnia. This can be detected with blood tests and resolved by giving the patient medication to help get their hormone level back to normal.

Others say that the condition is brought on by the sudden shock of having all of the enormous responsibility that goes with having a child. Suddenly being responsible for the life of another human being is difficult for some women to grasp.

Another part of the difficulty is lack of sleep brought on by late night feedings and irregular sleep patterns, long periods of the baby crying and trying everything that they can think of to get the child to stop, without any results. This can bring on terrible feelings of guilt and thoughts of themselves as being a bad mother. This can lead to the mother feeling overwhelmed and helpless.

Another potential “trigger” to postpartum depression could be the amount of weight gain. This is a very sensitive topic for many women. Their self esteem could suffer from this, especially if they have a spouse or significant other that is not very supportive. They may have had high hopes of their body immediately returning to normal after giving birth, but may be faced with the reality that, for some, they’re overweight for the first time in their life.

These are all just theories of course and will be until medical science can establish the truth, based on facts.

If you or anyone that you know is suffering from what you think may be postpartum depression, please seek medical attention as soon as possible. There may be treatments that your doctor can offer that will be helpful to get you or your loved one through this rough time in your life.
