Ten years ago, the number of diabetics in the world was 5 times less than the present figure of 143 million; it is probably double by 2030. Hence, the worldwide human population is in the midst of a diabetes epidemic. Diabetes arises when pancreas, the endocrine gland, stop producing sufficient insulin, or when body can’t efficiently use the produced insulin. Insulin is a hormone that maintains the blood sugar level by making it to enter the cells where it is used as a fuel. In most of the developed countries, diabetes is the 4th major death cause. Every year, worldwide, above 3 million deaths occur because of diabetes-linked causes. In the absence of proper insulin production and action, blood retains the sugar that leads to an increased level of glucose in blood (hyperglycemia). As a result, various long and short-term complications may arise, which if not averted and treated, can proved to be fatal. Drug Delivery Technologies and Markets look at the aim of developing drug delivery technology, including improvement in safety and efficiency, product’s life extension and improved compliance. Economics or finance is the major driver of drug delivery technology development. Advantages of new formulations that provide a competitive edge after patent expiry, drug rescue, reduction of healthcare costs, market extension and reduction of cost of drug development are all taken into account, thereby, making it necessary for anyone who is involved in drug delivery segment. The technologies that are being researched and developed will complete and used commercially in the near future. So, it is possible that the drug delivery products’ sales would rise by 100% in next 5 years. If you have depression, it affects everything, from the way you eat and sleep, the way you feel about yourself, and the way you think about things. Practically, you draw back from your old routine. During the period of depression, people with this condition tend to have a hard time going about their lives purposely and sensibly. Even the tiniest things seem to be beyond your control and therefore get set aside. If this happens to you, you are actually moving away from normal life. By restoring your routine, it can somehow help get back on the right track and lead you to your normal life, which is in some way fighting depression.

The most devastating effect of depression is a feeling of losing control of our lives. Don’t you agree with me? You begin to feel that everything is happening irrationally, which is not the result of your choice or something that you could have made yourself. To be able to regain control, which actually fighting depression, try to re-establish your routines. Maybe both your eye brows are on the highest level they can ever get – wanting to shout: that’s easy for you to say! But, as the old saying goes, “no pain, no gain”, which means that if you want to be in control of your life over again, you should start doing some restoring some of you usual routine no matter hard it can be.

Who says fighting depression is a piece-of-cake? But then again, if you don’t do anything to get on your feet and start fighting, you’ll get worse and worse. Other people and doctors can’t help you get better if you, yourself don’t even have the guts to do it. With that in mind, one way and much easier way to start your fight in regaining control over your life is to write a list of your everyday activities that you may no longer or avoided to participate in. The following is some of the helpful tips that you might need in your quest for taking control over your life.

With confidence when confronted with people, make sure you have maintained proper hygiene and keep well-groomed, which include keeping yourself presentable and pleasant. These things are important if you want other people to socialize with you as much as you want to them.

Go out as much as you can as it helps you adjust more quickly.

Staying healthy is one thing in fighting depression since loss of appetite is one of the issues with depression.

Keeping in touch with your family and friends greatly help avert your attention away from your condition, especially if you feel their love and care for you. You might pull out some strength from them.

Engage yourself in some house chores to improve your environment, which affects your healing process and is also a level form of exercise.

Don’t keep idle time! Because if you do you’ll get bored, and when you get bored, you’ll go back feeling depress again. The purpose of fighting depression with which you may have started with great efforts will be defeated. Did you get everything? If not, start reading from the top until the words register in your mind. And get your sorry butt up and get going. There’s more to life to celebrate the mope around!

An article about the history of asbestos and the potential future problems asbestos may cause. People fear that asbestos could cause an epidemic if it is not removed from places of business and homes quickly and appropriately. Despite the fact the government banned the importation of blue and brown asbestos over twenty years ago and finally banned white asbestos in 1999, 3500 people currently die every year from asbestos related diseases. Be it the lung choking “asbestosis” or the cancer “Mesothelioma” these diseases make asbestos the biggest industrial killer today. In the 50’s and 60’s following World War 2, millions of tons of raw asbestos was imported into the UK to be made into building products and other industrial uses. It was cheap, easy to mine and when added to various building products gave them extra strength and fire retardant properties. Just what was needed to help the post war building boom. However it was not until well into the sixties that it was discovered that the ingestion of its fibres caused terminal damage to peoples lungs. All those people working in the factories using asbestos in their products had already been damaged by the microscopic fibres of asbestos. This was borne out by the climbing death rates in the late 80’s as it can take anything from 5 to 25 years for the asbestos dieses to kill you. When the government brought in various bans on the importation and the using of asbestos in products they assumed by the turn of the new millennium there would be a fall in the number of deaths attributed to asbestos. Unfortunately the exact opposite happened and the death toll continued to rise. After some research the government found that because very few landlords or tenants of non-domestic buildings had bothered to have their building surveyed to find the whereabouts of any asbestos containing materials thousands of maintenance workers were coming into buildings and drilling holes or cutting out panels etc and disturbing the asbestos and on a regular basis breathing in small amounts of deadly fibres. So as time went on they became infected and joined the numbers of people dying who had worked in the asbestos factories of the 50’s and 60’s. Out of all this chaos was born the “Control of Asbestos in the Workplace” legislation. From May 2004 for the first time every owner or tenant, whoever was deemed responsible under the terms of leases, was legally obliged to have their premises surveyed and the position, quantity, condition and type of all ACM’s noted in a report form with a management plan to deal with the risk. These reports would then be available to any employee or outside contractor who may want to work in the areas containing asbestos and following laid out “Codes of Practice” take the necessary steps to minimise the release of harmful fibres into the atmosphere and subsequently into their lungs. Simple precautions like not using power tools, wearing an appropriate face-mask, wearing throw away overalls and other very basic things will help stop the ingestion of deadly asbestos fibres. Although this act will not immediately stop the death rate soaring to 10,000 deaths per year by 2020 eventually with the new knowledge and awareness of asbestos products contained in these reports we will see a decline in the death rate. The message about asbestos is not to rip it out of buildings unnecessarily but to know of its whereabouts and manage it. Only finally removing it under controlled conditions when it is damaged or disintegrating beyond reasonable repair. Christopher Angus helps promote the following websites: Printing Company

Insulin and blood sugar increase and decrease upon eating certain foods, are very important aspects for weight issue and of crucial importance for diabetics. Insulin secretion is regulated physiologically ( under normal condition of the body ) by the food elements, hormones, herbs and drugs circulating in the blood. Glucose, Mannose, B-keto acids, Amino acids( Leucine, Arginine and others) are the food components that increase insulin secretion Glucose is the most important stimulatory agent of insulin secretion, as it is always present in the blood, its concentration is kept within a narrow range and its amounts consumed by humans are the largest ones amongst all nutrients. Thus sugars and starchy foods that release glucose like Potatoes, Rice, Pasta, Bread…etc, all lead to rapid rise in blood glucose concentration having a high Glycemic Index ( GI) which is an index of the speed of appearance of high glucose concentration in the blood after ingesting food. Insulin secretion increase is not a good favor for the normal person. For example, if a normal healthy person ingested food that increases insulin secretion sharply, the secreted insulin will cause glucose vanishes quickly from the blood and this person will feel hungry, consequently he will take foods that block this feeling ,i.e. foods with high Glycemic Index and this effect will create spikes in blood glucose level. This may lead to overweight of normal person ( having other predisposing factors), as well as it is a predisposing factor to insulin resistance. Insulin secretion increase on eating high Glycemic Index foods is not the case of a diabetic subject, as his debilitated pancreas may not secrete the sufficient amounts of insulin to meet the requirements needed to meet the sudden glucose load, leading to hyperglycemia. Pregnancy hormonal levels can increase the blood sugar of a pregnant woman to the point that some people with normal glucose metabolism become diabetic during pregnancy, and although 95% of them recover after delivery yet, consuming much of the high Glycemic foods can exacerbate this case. Some foods like Garlic and Onions can decrease blood sugar by competing with Insulin for Insulin inactivating sites in the liver, and this results in increase in free Insulin in the blood and this Insulin decreases blood sugar. Ginseng herb has been shown to increase the release of insulin from the pancreas and to increase the of Insulin receptors, i.e.it enhances the effect of Insulin in decreasing blood sugar. The list of foods that decrease blood sugar is long and include many foods, thus to discuss their mechanism of action, amounts to be taken, precautions and drawbacks of high intake, I need to write another article.
